Atomic Peppers are the red peppers that Lloyd and Harry used to prank Mental during lunch.
Role in Dumb and Dumber[]
Mental poses as a hitchhiker, and rides in Lloyd and Harry's van, intending to kill them when they stop. They go to a restaurant which serves very hot peppers, and Lloyd and Harry offer Mental some try. Mental refuses and dares them both to try them themselves at the same time. Harry and Lloyd accept Mental's dare and each try a pepper simultaneously, leading to both burning their tongues.
After Mental finishes his phone call with Nicholas Andre, Lloyd and Harry have stuffed his burger full of the atomic peppers as a prank, not knowing of his stomach ulcer. Upon taking a bite, Mental suffers an adverse reaction. He requests his medication for his ulcer, but Harry accidentally gives him the rat poisoning pills he had brought to kill them. He dies within seconds of realizing Harry's mistake.
