Petey was a parakeet belonging to Harry Dunne. He was decapitated by Joe Mentalino as a warning to Harry and Lloyd, but Harry thought he died because his head fell off his body.

In 1994, Petey was decapitated by Joe Mentalino. Lloyd Christmas taped the head back on and sold its body to Billy, a blind boy who thought it was still alive. Petey's body being sold to Billy made national news.
Petey's death was somehow avenged by Lloyd and Harry after they accidentally gave Joe rat poisoning, which they mistook for his pills.
